Remko Goudappel, CEO Jacobi Group
It is with great pride that I present to you the first edition of A Pure World. The idea was born when we went through our strategic dialogue and started a comprehensive branding effort. The idea was launched to intensify our communication efforts about our sustainability journey from within Jacobi towards our internal and external stakeholders by using a magazine with stories from people in our business.
Let me start by wishing you a happy and healthy New Year. 2020 was a year full of stress and despair, and I hope that the holiday season brought you valuable time to reflect and spend with your loved ones. Despite the set-backs we faced in 2020, we also learned a lot from it which we can apply in 2021. I am sure that 2021 will be full of new challenges again but we are making a fresh start!
As you have noticed, we have communicated extensively about the Covid-19 impact to Jacobi and our people. We did this intentionally as we believe that transparency is a key ingredient of being a sustainable company. Communication about good news and bad news; only when you are transparent about a crisis, you can be transparent about how we are handling a crisis.
We have created a platform for communication which we are planning to use for broader communication about our journey to become the most sustainable player in the industry. As you will read in this first edition of
A Pure World, our people are telling their stories on their contribution to Jacobi’s journey but also about their personal journeys. In the end, people make the difference at Jacobi.
That gives me the opportunity to welcome our new people in Finland! The Finex team joined us in November of 2020. This acquisition will help Jacobi to become a more sustainable player in the resins market; it will help us become more innovative, improving our CO2 footprint for the resins supply chain and supporting several other contributions in our ambition to be a leader in sustainability.
Welcome to A Pure World, enjoy the read!
