Jacobi Finds a New Home in Kalmar

Our head office in Kalmar has moved to a new address. The new premises has given us the opportunity to create an office that reflects our Swedish heritage. The interior is Nordic minimalistic, with a natural colour scheme and our bright Jacobi orange as an accent in selected places. In designing the new office, we have been careful to reuse everything we could from our previous one.
We hope to see you soon in our new offices.

Running for Life (and Some "Fika")

Blodomloppet is a unique combination of a community fitness event and a charity event that encourages Swedes to stay healthy while helping to save lives through blood donation. An event we naturally wanted to contribute to.

It was a great day together running, jogging or walking 5 or 10 km in the countryside of Kalmar, Sweden. After the run, we had a well-deserved picnic with a typical Swedish "fika" (traditionally a break from work in the middle of the day for a coffee and a chat with colleagues).

Saving Lives, Together

We are proud of the Sri Lankan culture of always wanting to help others. In June, we organised a blood donation drive at our site in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The campaign received a massive response from both internal and external donors, attracting more than 100 donors, with many queuing outside the doors ahead of the scheduled time.

A Great Team Effort Within Our Community Engagement Programme

In August we celebrated Baltic Sea Day with a coastal clean-up. At Jacobi, everyone is encouraged to contribute to the community in which we work, so we got the Kotka team together and spent a day cleaning up Katariina Seaside Park. The weather was great, the team enjoyed a day outdoors and we managed to collect a lot of rubbish, making the park a little nicer than it was before we arrived.

A big thank you to all who participated.

Showcasing Talents for Underprivileged Children

Every June, this annual Buddhist song-singing competition called Poson Bathi Gee Saraniya, which is sung in the Sri Lankan language Sinhala, coincides with the Poson Full Moon Poya Day. It is a cultural event that brings together students from 14 underprivileged schools and eight employee teams from our site in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Providing a platform for young people to showcase their talents nurtures their cultural identity, boosts their self-confidence, and instils a sense of pride in their heritage.

The Meaningful Sense of Being Part of Something Bigger

TAKING PART IN sporting events is a great way to promote the health and well-being of our employees. The fact that we are able to help raise awareness for a good cause makes it feel even better. At the Coimbatore Marathon 2024, organised with the idea of raising awareness about cancer, 110 of our employees proudly contributed to this worthy initiative, along with members of our parent company, the OGC team.

The 2025 Nellai Marathon aimed to promote running and exercise alongside an anti-drugs stance. Jacobi was proud to be part of this meaningful event, with 150 of our employees and their families participating in the marathon.

Providing Clean Water to Local Students

As part of our sustainability programme, we donated a water purifier for a local school, close to one of our plants in India. This installation ensures clean water for the students. In our community engagement efforts we focus on local education, sports, health, infrastructure and environment. Sustainability at work for real.

20 players from our two Indian sites and 20 from our two Sri Lankan sites met in three matches. The first match was won by India and the two following by Sri Lanka.

A Rare Opportunity for Our Teams in India and Sri Lanka to Meet

Yes, we were playing a cricket match, but this match was about more than winning or losing . It promoted sportsmanship, built teams and united people within Jacobi who rarely or never meet. It was also an opportunity for many at an operational level to travel abroad for the first time. Seeing another country and visiting a new factory was a rare and valuable experience.

Our Lucky Winner of a Lucky at our Christmas Event

Every year, we get together for a digital, light-hearted Christmas event. Our raffle game has become a fun part of our celebration. The first prize is an e-bike, and this year, Alia Ivkovic was the lucky winner. We caught up with Alia before a ride in spring-like Switzerland.

Hi Alia, you won a bicycle at the raffle game at our Christmas event, which bike is it?

Oh, what a lucky day it was. It's a mint-coloured e-bike called Riley.

Are you happy with it?

Am I happy with it? Oh yes! Absolutely! It's sleek and smooth and rides like a dream.

That's great to hear. How will you use it?

I will take a lot of rides with my family. It'll be a wonderful way to enjoy nature and create lasting memories together.

We think you will need to find a name for it; what will it be? And why that name?

I have decided to call it Lucky because I was so lucky to win it.

Congratulations Alia, we wish you the best of luck at our next Christmas event.
