We received over 80 contributions to the first annual awards with everything from individuals taking sustainable initiatives to entire team efforts making a difference to their surrounding communities.
Every action counts
In 2021 we held the very first Jacobi Sustainability Awards. The aim with these awards was to recognise and reward people who work sustainably, and motivate others to make the most sustainable choices possible, both professionally and in their home life too. It’s all part of our journey to becoming the most sustainable player in the industry.
The response we had was excellent, with over 80 entries in total. The winners were announced at the virtual Jacobi Christmas event in December. Each received a personalised wooden trophy, a dinner out with their family or a framed certificate.
We’d like to say a huge well done and congratulations to our winners, and to thank every entrant. We’re looking forward to holding another sustainability awards event again in the near future.
The winners in each category were debated over and decided by the G10 group which is made up of members of the Jacobi management board. It was difficult to choose from the range of fantastic entires that were sent in. CEO, Remko Goudappel said: “I was so proud to see how many of our people entered their ideas or practices for the Jacobi Sustainability Awards.
I’m excited about sustainability. As a business, we are driven by sustainability, it gives us a purpose. It’s great to see how many of our people embrace it and feel inspired by sustainability too.”
