The Magic World of Activated Carbon

AT JACOBI TIANJIN, China, we selected Introduce Active Carbon to Community Children for this year’s CSR project. Here, we wanted to teach children how activated carbon can make our air clean and the water pure.

We explained how coconuts, wood, bamboo, and coal become activated carbon. With the activity Magic Colour Moving, we also demonstrated how coloured water could be turned clear. Home filters are widely used by families in China, but most children don’t know how these filters work. The children did this experiment by themselves and enjoyed trying on some safety equipment, including glasses, masks and gloves.

Children are the future and increasing their knowledge of what we can do to help to protect our planet is essential.
